New in Version 6.0

Version 6.0 of the Official OVAL Schema is a direct result of feedback from the OVAL Community. This will be a major version change and may require some new development by tools that support earlier versions of the Language. The changes pending to the different schemas are outlined below.

Version 6.0 of the OVAL Schema will include the following:

• enable externally linked extended definitions
• improvement of the windows wmi_test
• improvement of the PossibleType used by external variables
• choice structure for trustee_sid / trustee_name
• choice structure for file path / file name
• allow filters to work with sets
• variable substitution within values
• user level share permissions test for Windows
